Drone Status Thailand

On this page, you can find an overview of current regulations and how they currently affect drone flights in Thailand.

Last update: 21 July 2026

Most Important First

• Less flight restrictions: Since the 25th of July flying is possible again in Pattaya, Koh Samet and many more areas, that are not close to the Cambodian border.
• Flight ban in Khao Sok national park: Due to the Cambodia-Conflict and the energy-relevant structures in the Khao Sok national park (dam) drone flights are not allowed there at the moment.
• In normal areas instant flight approval: In the provinces Phuket and Krabi drone flying is not restricted, same in big parts of Phang-nga province (with the exception of Khao Lak – this is a danger area). Also in many other parts you get instant approcal, see Drone Map.

General Information

Since 15 August 2025, drone pilots are required to register every flight in the UAS Portal App.

Flight requests for unrestricted areas (no Danger Area, Restricted Area or Prohibited Area) are now usually approved instantly, which means spontaneous flights are possible again in many regions. The same goes for military specific danger areas on the weekend (such as the VTD zones in Koh Samui/Tao/Phangan).

You can find an overview of the different zones in our Thailand drone map.
